In Leersum, on the edge of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, Wolkonijn's Angoras live a wonderful rabbit life. They have plenty of space, feed from their own rabbit pasture, and are carefully and attentively clipped every three months. This is how we obtain their beautiful Angora fiber in an animal-friendly way.
Angora is known for its exceptional softness and warmth. It's as light as a cloud, yet wonderfully insulating. When we combine this luxurious fiber with the organic merino wool from Boerderij Blij Bezuiden, an ultra-soft, strong, yet airy yarn is created.
With this yarn, you can knit the most beautiful scarves, wrist warmers, hats, and mittens—pieces that are not only comfortable but also have a natural look. Its softness also makes it ideal for baby projects, such as hats and booties: warm, breathable, and soft. Some of the colors are dyed with environmentally friendly dyes that meet the GOTS standard. We also dye some of our products using plant-based materials, including flowers and leaves from our own flower garden. Plant-based dyes can be recognized by this symbol ✿
