When traveling, it’s easy to be captivated by new landscapes and impressions. But sometimes, you rediscover the beauty of your own surroundings with that same fresh perspective. That’s what happened when I saw the Utrechtse Heuvelrug in a new way — a place long familiar, yet suddenly full of inspiration.
This shawl is an ode to the Dutch landscape, featuring the daisy and the black-tailed godwit as symbols, and honoring the sheep that live here and provide their beautiful wool. The design captures the atmosphere of heathlands, forests, sunrises, and drifting clouds.
The wool, sourced from the Utrechtse Heuvelrug and crafted into Schaapjeswol®, makes it even more special. It feels like a full circle: “painting” the landscape around you with wool that comes from the same place.
As you knit, you experience the landscape stitch by stitch — and once finished, you can wrap yourself in it.
